A tender memory – Faye`s wedding in Tetbury-Cotswold UK and birthday surprises for me.

To the reader who has just landed here on my site and scrolling through the pages and realising that may be I am a little out of date, you haven’t missed much at all. It has been ages since I last posted anything on the blog and time waits for nobody. I have been off blogging for a very long time honestly, due to the fact that I am no great at it all and I am always lost for words and how best to express myself. In addition, with stresses of life and work etc, as you know I am sure, life is never a straight line with all its bends twists bumps, hills mountains and valleys to mention but a few. No need to explain further but I am sure you get me. Anyway, after a very long break, I was looking through some images form my clients and trying to catch up with messaging here and there, and Faye`s wedding caught my attention. It reminded me of when for the first time in my life I did not want to get old…I did not want to celebrate birthdays-precisely my birthday.
Faye was a recommended bride to be from Chris Fordham (I am always thankful to Chris for his never failing support whenever he can). Her wedding was to be in Tetbury, Cotswolds UK and her wedding date fell into the week when I would have been away for a few weeks to celebrate my birthday. I won`t say how old I am. Please dont ask if we meet. Honestly, in recent years, I must admit, it`s no longer exciting to celebrating birthdays. I am envious of little ones celebrating theirs. Time waits for no one and aging does really catch you out…it`s trying to catch me out!!!! But what has this got to do with Faye`s bridal hair?
Well, I was thrilled when Faye contacted me for her wedding day hairstyling. This might as well have been my birthday present. It was short notice and she really needed me for her bridal hair. My husband had been organising my birth surprise party…actually, it turned out not much of a surprise as I had eventually caught him out that he had been organising something. He is not good at hiding things. Anyway, with Faye`s sudden wedding hair enquiry, I had the perfect excuse to give to my husband for him to stop all the fuss with celebrating birthdays for me! We could just go somewhere without the fuss about one single day....my birthday which is just like any other day really.
But why do I find birthdays unsettling now when i enjoyed them before? The things is the idea that I will be getting closer to an age where I won`t be able to do my work due to my age and everyone close to me celebrating that is quite depressing. I feel old and even older. I am not a make-up wearer so I can`t hide anymore. And, my worst nightmare just recently showed up…I have grey hair now! ARRRGGGHHH!!!! Shall I go au natural? Ahaha, not a great look f or a hairdresser right? To make things worse with my kinky hair, any white hair looks like I have white things stuck in my haystack. Honestly, I am on cross roads now with white hair. I used to encourage my clients to be and look as natural as possible but now its on my foot, I don’t feel comfortable with au natural. Shall I pull the buggers out one by one? No, that would be the greatest sin I would commit as I hairdresser.
I asked my my husband for his opinion on the grey hair that I could see and his answer was, “I have grey hair blindness darling so I can`t see any on you!!” Ha, ha, ha, yeah, yeah…whatever, I sighed with frustartion. I am still not used his poker face compliments. Then just a few hours later after he added “For your next birthday celebration, I will treat you to a luxurious white hair day celebration at a luxurious hairdressers! I told him to be careful with what he said about my white hair as I might treat him to some hair curling session on top of his head as a volumising hair treat ( he is almost bald on the top…poor thing…but its family thing) To which he responded shut up!!!! You should have seen my smile, fair game!
Anyway, I am still rumbling and I cant even remember why I brought up the white hair subject into it but I will stop boring you to death, let me just share some images from beautiful Faye`s wedding.
